BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ORGANISATION

_

India World Foundation (IWF), a Registered Institution for Serving Global Society, has been active in India and abroad since 2003.

IWF is a group of committed and concerned individuals working towards peace, progress and prosperity of mankind irrespective of caste, creed, colour or race. Our belief in ancient Indian Vedic way of life that swears by VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM (universal oneness of humanity) makes us work for the well- being of every living being, human and non-human forms of life, in these days of cut-throat competitive capitalism that has seen the worst economic crisis, comparable to the Great Depression of the thirties. There is a growing realization among the right-thinking people across the globe about the relevance of ancient Indian knowledge and wisdom to steer the people towards forming a more compassionate society. We at IWF are for creating a society where the mighty stop to think about the meek and help them in every aspect of life.

IWF, a congregation of professionals, social scientists, development economists, businessmen, industrialists, doctors, engineers, bureaucrats, judiciary and media practitioners, has taken up the cause of fighting to get the target of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) a global agenda, set by United Nations for integrated development of our global society by organizing many socio-developmental programmes from time to time.

Towards achieving this objective, IWF, takes up special focused projects targeted at specific communities and regions at the micro level in conformity with its macro view of the country as a whole. Our collaborators in different parts of the world coordinate their respective efforts in tune with the IWF plans, programmes and policies. During its journey IWF had the opportunity to work with the United Nations organizations on various issues. In 2009 it collaborated with United Nation Informatics Centre to celebrate the International Youth Day and organized a Round Table Discussion on ‘Role of Youth in Peace and Development’. Very recently UNICEF has identified IWF as a partner in its campaign on malnutrition whereby IWF will leverage its media linkage and space for promoting awareness on malnutrition. Out of the box thinking forms the thrust of our problem solving approach, and we are constantly on the lookout for people with new and fresh ideas. All those who are committed to our philosophy of selfless sacrifice for betterment of the weaker sections of the mankind are welcome to join us.
